On June 12th at 17:00 CEST our virtual Trend Tour on waste management took place. Following a keynote by Dr. Diana Born (K’UP), we heard from two start-ups dealing with the topic of waste managemen.

According to the World Bank, global waste generation is expected to rise by 70% by 2050 if no action is taken. This increase is primarily driven by population growth, urbanization, and changing consumption patterns. But we have a choice and can take action to change these numbers.

On Monday June 12th at 17:00 CEST, we invited two start-ups from the CIRCULAZE 2022 long-list to give their pitches for better waste management solutions. From reducing and reusing plastics to preventing microplastics from entering our oceans, our start-ups shared their innovative solutions with us.

Swedish start-up Mimbly is washing up a laundry revolution with their innovative solutions to the global water crisis.

What They Do: Swedish start-up Mimbly is washing up a laundry revolution with their innovative solutions to the global water crisis. The team at Mimbly did their research and found that we don’t need to be using drinkable water to wash our clothes. This is where their first product the Mimbox comes in, circumventing water waste by analyzing and reusing the best quality water. The Mimbox is also equipped with a state-of-the-art filtration system to stop microplastics from entering our bodies and oceans. The Mimbox has the ability to connect to any brand and is currently available to order for larger scale laundry facilities. And a household version is already on the minds of the Mimbly team.
